Ethiopia: Pilot in Custody After Hijacking – Report

Cape Town — Authorities in Switzerland are holding the hijacker of an Ethiopian Airlines flight that was forced to land at Geneva’s international airport early on Monday morning, airport police said, according to a report in The Guardian.

According to AirlineReporter.com, Swiss police have confirmed that a pilot aboard the aircraft is the individual in custody.

The situation was “under control”, police said after flight ET 702 had been diverted from its original destination of Rome, and all passengers and crew are reportedly safe.

The airline had earlier said in a statement that they were preparing for passengers to fly to their intended destinations.
